Middlesex County Office of Arts & History2019 General Operating Support and Program Support I & II Grants
The Multimedia, Art, & Digital Design & Dance Programs partnered with the New Jersey Middlesex County Office of Arts & History and was awarded the Support I & II Grants for 2019. The theme and result was a fantastic collaboration of both the visual ad preforming arts. The theme chosen by both the Multimedia, Art, & Digital Design & Dance Programs was titled ANDALUSIA FLAMENCO. Ms. Cleo Mack instructor of the Dance Program and Mr. Joseph Tiedemann instructor of the Multimedia, Art, & Digital Design Program at MCVTS East Brunswick Campus worked with expert guest artists who were specialists in their fields to create a stunning visual and performance based showcase based on the art and dance of the Spanish Flamenco style. Ms. Mack’s Dance students worked tirelessly for months with a special guest artist/dance instructor specializing in the beautiful, sinuous, and dramatic dance form of Flamenco. Mr. Tiedemann’s students worked simultaneously with an expert graphic designer guest artist to create a unique and mobile visual environment consisting of ten enormous backdrops individualized and featuring each of the primary dance performers. Performances of ANDALUSIA FLAMENCO were held at several locations in the spring of 2019 and were an amazing success. The ANDALUSIA FLAMENCO showcase tied in perfectly with the MCVTS East Brunswick Campus School of the Arts International Program’s trip to Andalusia, Spain in the spring of 2020 (postponed due to COVID-19 until spring of 2022). The students and guest artists of both the Multimedia, Art, & Digital Design & Dance Programs expressed their gratitude to the Middlesex County Office of Arts & History and to MCVTS East Brunswick Campus Board of Education and Administration for the amazing opportunity to work with the amazingly talented School of the Arts students and dedicated instructors in both programs. |
